WIRDS
Terapix T0002 Release
The WIRCam Deep Survey (WIRDS) is a CFHT Large Program which was
carried out using
WIRCam at the CFHT between semesters 06A and 08B. WIRDS provides
broad-band near-infrared data for the CFHTLS Deep Fields. T0002 is the
final WIRDS release and is now publicly available.
This release comprises WIRDS data in the J, H and Ks filters for all 4 of the CFHTLS Deep Fields. WIRCam has a pixel scale of 0.3 arcsec/pixel and the data are acquired with half-pixel micro-dithering to improve the spatial resolution. The released images have been re-sampled to the MegaCam pixel scale of 0.186 arcsec/pixel so that each pixel in the WIRDS images is matched to the equivalent location in the optical CFHTLS T0006 images. Note that due to the smaller field of view of WIRCam, only parts of the optical field of D1, D3 and D4 has been covered in the near-IR. The full field of D2 has been observed with WIRCam.
Details on how the stacks were constructed, quality assessment information and a description of meanings of file names are provided
on the
Terapix WIRDS T0002 data description page.
There is a README file which also provides information on the available images and catalogues.
The paper describing the dataset and its processing has been submitted to a journal and is available at http://arxiv.org/abs/1111.6997 (Bielby et al. 2012).
